Biographical Note

James Martin (1850-1898) was born at Sydney. He was a senior partner in the firm James Martin & Co., hardware and machinery importers. He was elected a member of the NSW Legislative Assembly for the seats of South Sydney (1889-1894) and Sydney-Bligh (1894-1895).
